The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the major health crises that affected the world,
contributing to diverse challenges. The pandemic increased the mental health challenges for
populations. Mental and psychological issues significantly affecting individuals during the
pandemic include anxiety, depression, stress, and other mental health challenges for many
individuals. These mental problems affected citizens, those with pre-existing mental health
conditions, and frontline healthcare workers. The major cause of the increase in psychological
issues was the grief from those who lost their lives due to the illness, uncertainty, economic
hardship, isolation, and fear brought on by the pandemic and lockdown measures. A high
percentage of the population lost their lives due to COVID-19, while others experienced major
physical challenges and problems. The pressures from the pandemic increased mental health
problems for Americans, with the introduction of diverse health technologies meant to improve
the response for people.
