Question: Was there a specific component of brain development’s effect on children’s
thinking and learning that stuck out to you in the readings? Can you tell us more about this
feature’s appeal and how it pertains to your study?
Paragraph of Interest. The concept of the evolution of the human brain is intriguing,
especially with how it affects children’s thinking and learning. One particular aspect that stuck
out to me was the notion of brain plasticity and its variance across age groups. According to
Kolb & Whishaw (2011), our brains are most “plastic” during childhood, especially when we
are young. It suggests that the brain is versatile throughout this vital era, capable of rapidly
learning and responding to external stimuli.
