Objectives
The primary aim of this experiment is to explore the connections between fluid flow and the
associated pressure changes while conducting flow measurements. Additionally, the experiment
seeks to calibrate various flow meters and ascertain their respective flow coefficients.
Abstract
This experiment explores the intricate relationship between fluid flow and pressure losses during
flow measurements, aiming to calibrate flow meters and determine their flow coefficients.
Accurate fluid flow measurement is vital in various industries. In this report, we present three
experiments: flow meter calibration (Experiment 4.1), Venturi Nozzle investigation (Experiment
4.2.2), and Pitot Tube evaluation (Experiment 4.3). Experiment 4.1 revealed measurement
discrepancies and calculated the root-mean-square error (R.M.S.E.). Experiment 4.2.2
determined the Venturi Nozzle’s correction factor “k.” In Experiment 4.3, the Pitot Tube’s
performance was assessed, resulting in the calculation of a flow coefficient, “k.” These
experiments enhance our understanding of fluid flow measurement and improve system
performance and safety.
