Main fabric – 15 x 19″ (38 x 48cm) medium-weight cotton fabric in a flesh tone

Lining fabric – 15 x 19″ (38 x 48cm) white cotton or flannel for a double layer for the
doll

Cardboard

Pencil and Pen

Printed cotton fabric for the clothing (optional)

polyester stuffing

matching thread

scissors (or rotary cutter and a cutting mat)

Ruler or measuring tape

iron and ironing board

Sewing clips or pins

Needle and embroidery thread in different colors for the facial features

A little knitting yarn for the hair

Instructions
Step 1: Print and Cut Pattern
Print the pattern at the correct scale and
ensure that the test piece measures 1 inch
by 1 inch at 100% scale. Paste the pattern
on a piece of cardboard and cut out the
pieces. The front and back of the doll are
identical, so you will have a single pattern
piece for both the doll’s body and the inner
flannelette, which adds firmness and
prevents stuffing lumps from showing
through the fabric.
Step 2: Prepare Fabric
Iron the flesh-toned fabric, which can range from pale cream to tan or light to mid-brown.
Also, iron the flannelette. The color of the flannelette is not critical as it won’t be visible –
grey, white, or cream works well.
